The cardiologist at Cardiocentro Ticino since 2008, will become a CHUV tenured professor from November 1, 2012 to July 31, 2018.
The University Rector Dominique Arlettaz, the Faculty of biology and medicine of the University of Lausanne (Unil) and the CHUV cardiology service announced, on October 30, that Prof. Dr Giuseppe Vassalli, who has worked at Cardiocentro Ticino since 2008, has been appointed “Tenured Professor” at the cardiology service of CHUV-University Hospital of Lausanne until 2018. Professor Vassalli, a native of Ticino, currently holds a part-time position at the Cardiocentro Ticino Cardiology Service as a consultant physician, leading a number of pre-clinical research projects in the domain of advanced therapies.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, the International Journal of Biomedical Science and the periodical Kardiovascular Medizin (Médicine cardiovasculaire). He is a scientific consultant of the Swiss Science Foundation, the UK Royal academy of Sciences, the Swiss Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology.
