It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in an afternoon dedicated to the discussion of a pathology that is still counted among the rare diseases: Amyloidosis.
To our knowledge, amyloidosis is a disabling and often fatal disease characterized by the accumulation of amyloid within numerous organs and tissues. Recognizing amyloidosis is not always easy because the symptoms that accompany it are often non-specific and can mimic other more common systemic pathologies. Patients often have to face a long clinical journey that does not seem to lead to the expected results. As a result, amyloidosis is often diagnosed late.
For these reasons we want to ask ourselves together with you, during a dedicated symposium, how we can all act together to achieve an early diagnosis and best treat this disease. We will be able to present you with “state of the art lectures” on Amyloidosis AL and Amyloidosis ATTR and to present you with interesting results in the field of research on Amyloidosis in Ticino. Several brief but targeted interventions on the specialist diagnostics of systemic amyloidosis will follow. Finally, we will have the pleasure of sharing with you the procedures for taking care of patients at the IOSI and ICCT Amyloidosis Clinics in Ticino.
At the end of this meeting we will all be aware that Amyloidosis is an underdiagnosed pathology and probably no longer counted among the rare diseases.
